Nihongo Explorers G2-G5, G6-G8
This is a course targeted for G2-G5 and G6-G8 students with little to no knowledge of Japanese language. It is designed for learners of introductory Japanese and explores Japanese culture through language learning experiences.
After completing the session of the course, the goal is for students to become more interested in Japan and to be more eager to learn Japanese.
Each session will be run in English. No knowledge of Japanese is needed for the participating children and their parents/guardians.
Class Schedule
The course is offered by age groups; Grade 2 -Grade 5 (born between 2016 and 2019) and Grade 6 –Grade 8 (born between 2013 and 2015).

Classes may be subject to cancellation if minimum enrolment is not met by the registration deadline.
Classes may be cancelled without advance notice due to weather conditions or other unforeseeable emergencies. If a class is cancelled, a make-up class will be arranged by the school.
About JCAM and JCAM Language School
JCAM is a community-based, charitable corporation that is run by its volunteer members. JCAM’s objective is the education, preservation, and promotion of Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture, history, and language in the province of Manitoba.
Only JCAM members can register for the courses of JCAM Japanese Language School (“School”).
The School accounts for one of the core activities of JCAM: promoting Japanese traditional culture, Japanese modern culture, and human rights.
At Heritage Language Program, the School is operated with the volunteer support of parents and guardians. Any assistance and cooperation to support the School is greatly appreciated.
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
- Tuition fees are fully refundable only for first-time students to the School if an email or phone request for withdrawal is received by the School by 4pm on the business day before the third class.
- JCAM membership fee is not refundable by the School even if a student is entitled to a full tuition refund.
- Classes may be subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met. Students will be entitled to a full tuition refund under these circumstances. (JCAM membership fee would not be refunded.)
