Winnipeg Harvest Food Donation Drive

Date

Saturday November 21st from 10:00-11:30 am

Location

Manitoba Buddhist Temple

39 Tecumseh St

The Manitoba Buddhist Temple and JCAM are partnering to help Winnipeg Harvest collect food and money to assist those who are in need.

Please read the words of Sensei Tanis Moore

"With the holiday season soon approaching, I have noticed how many organizations are asking for food.  Many families are having trouble putting enough food on their tables, due to the pandemic, what with loss of jobs and businesses closing. The First of the Six Paramitas is dana, or giving, and Compassion goes hand in hand with Wisdom.  Our temple members are generous and supportive people, who are so helpful to the sangha during these difficult times.
I suggest that we have a food donation drive, with the proceeds going to Harvest, who distribute food to many places in need.  Canned food items as well as dried food, such as pasta and lentils, can be dropped off at the temple on Saturday, November 21st from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  If there are some folks who would like their food items picked up, please let me know and I will arrange for pick up.
In Gratitude,
In Gassho,
Tanis"
If you have food or money to donate bring it by to the Manitoba Buddhist Temple at 39 Tecumseh on Saturday November 21st anytime between 10:00-11:30 am.
If you are picking up a bento box this Saturday, we will accept food or cash donations that day also.
We are also asking for a few volunteers.  If you can help please email info@jcamwpg.ca
