Jodene Baker

Jodene Baker is a third-generation Japanese Canadian whose family connection to the internment during the Second World War runs deep – her grandfather was among those forcibly displaced from the West Coast. This history has instilled in her a profound commitment to preserving Japanese Canadian culture and strengthening community ties.
Professionally, Jodene serves as Vice-President of Research, Advocacy & External Relations at Imagine Canada, where she leads initiatives to strengthen the nonprofit and charitable sector nationwide. She brings valuable expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, governance best practices, and organizational sustainability – skills directly applicable to advancing JCAM’s goals and ensuring its continued vitality for future generations.
